For the spring-summer, 2018 season, extravagance and daring are the order of the day. The outrageous colors contrast with a return to freshness and naturalness. Decoding this year's flagship beauties with Morgane Martini, makeup artist Marc Jacobs Beauty ambassador.

From the invincible line of black eyeliner to ultra-colored lipsticks, this year, the makeup trends oscillate between a return to the classics and a new wave. There are also variations of eyeshadow: sometimes sequined, sometimes multicolored, in 2018 we love XXL and pigmented at will.

The black eyeliner at every angle

"It's a classic, a trend that's still in the news, and all women love eyeliner and can wear it because it's a tool that always highlights the look," says makeup artist Morgane Martini. ambassador Marc Jacobs Beauty.

On the catwalks as in the street, it is worn in the fine line or on the contrary very thick, faded for the most minimalist or stretched and graphics for a very trendy futuristic effect. One can even try to apply it on the bottom of the eye for a gloomy look.

Everything is therefore allowed with the eyeliner, that we judge our eyes too big, too small, or too round, a well-drawn black line can change everything. Just find the shape that suits us best.

For a perfect line of eyeliner, Morgane Martini advises the technique of the cotton swab: "I place the eyeliner and then correct with a very fine cotton swab moistened with micellar water. I also use the cotton swab without makeup remover to blur the effect of the eyeliner, and voila. "

Sure enough, the eyeliner intensifies the look. With him, we opt for a red mouth, preferably glossy. And above all, we make sure to have very fresh skin, especially not overloaded.

The ultra-pigmented flashy lipstick

This is a second trend 2018 that comes back often and that adapts to all faces.

For our beauty expert, everything is always a question of subtlety in makeup. "All intense colors can work as long as the hue is modulated, pale skins will have to opt for cooler shades, while browns can go on warmer tones."

To exhibit a flashy mouth without making a mistake, we chose the sobriety for the rest of the face. A "baby face" with a nude complexion and little or no make-up will give thanks to a cheap lipstick cannot be more conspicuous.

Be careful: colors that are not very discreet always draw attention to them, so that the contours of the lipstick are clear. To make sure, Morgane Martini recommends applying a little foundation or concealer on the mouth and its contours to correct fine lines, small veins, and redness. "My little tip for a very long-lasting outfit is to apply the first coat, then to bite a paper towel to remove the excess, then I apply a second coat and the color holds all day," says our expert.
