One figure justifies the writing of this article: 80% of beard trimmer failures are due to poor maintenance. So, inevitably, one question remains: how to maintain your mower and extend its life?
We brush and rinse
After shaving, it is obviously necessary to remove the cutting shoe. Rapid rinsing with clean water is enough to remove the largest amount of hair and impurities. But once a month, I advise you to soak the hoof in soapy water for a good hour, just to find a clean beard trimmer.
Then you have to look at the blades of the mowers. On some models - older in general - it does not come off. In this case, use the small brush provided with the trimmer or a hard-bristled toothbrush to remove all bristles between the blades and the different holes.
If the cutting head is removable, the cleaning is even simpler: we remove the head that we brush carefully. Most of the hair has been removed during this operation, it remains only to rinse the blades under a trickle of hot water to eliminate the last little junk. Finally, let it all dry in the open air, it is important.
Also remember to brush the FLYCO Rechargeable Razor’s motor a little bit, as these tend to get under the blades.
Do not forget to lubricate
Beard trimmers are usually sold with a small bottle of lubricating oil. Too few men think of using it while it is a very useful product to extend the life expectancy of its mower!
About twice a month, you should pour a drop of lubricant in the middle of the blades and at each end - as well as to the motor for the mowers with a removable head. All that remains is to turn the mower on again for about 10 seconds, then remove any excess oil with paper towels.
If you have lost the oil or have completed the mini-bottle provided, know that it is still possible to get it on the Internet.
The peculiarity of one blade
You already know it, but here we really like FLYCO Rechargeable Razor. We talked about it here and there for example.
Beyond the qualities of this razor to maintain your beard, its cleaning is also very practical. Here, no need to lubricate: simply switch on its one blade, rinse it for a few seconds under a trickle of hot water, let it dry and you're done!
I finally take the opportunity to tell you the presence of a wear mark on the blades- this often goes unnoticed. You may notice that the blade is darker outside. As you shave, the indicator will move forward and as soon as the entire blade is dark, it is time to change. Easy, right?
In short, whatever your model of shaver or beard trimmer, you now have no excuse (or almost) to let it get dirty or worse to see it fail!
